SOWK Course Override Request Form


  • Please note all items with an asterisk (*) are required fields. You will not be able to submit your request until all items are completed.
  • Within 24 hours of receiving override approval, it is your responsibility to register for your specified course(s). Failure to act promptly may result in not being able to register for the course. Space is not guaranteed.
  • It is your responsibility to register for your specified course(s) within 24 hours of receiving override approval.
  • Overrides are provided in the order of requests received. (During high volume times it may take longer.)
  • Overrides will not be approved until registration formally opens.
  • Closed Course Overrides will not be accommodated through this form.

Do not use this form for:

  • Field Practicum course overrides: Field sections are assigned by the Office of Field Education, and you will be notified of the specific section in which to register. Please send all field registration questions to SWFIELD@TXSTATE.EDU.
  • Phase II course overrides: If you encounter an error message when attempting to register for Phase II courses and are eligible for registration and are within your registration window; then please email BSWPROGRAM@TXSTATE.EDU.

Before sending an email remember to include the following information. Communication received without the information outlined below will not be processed.

  • Full name
  • TX State Student ID Number (A0---)
  • Professional explanation of request being made.

SUMMER COURSES DO NOT REQUIRE A DEPARTMENT OVERRIDE. Please do not submit a form for summer courses.

Major/Minor *
minor must be reflected on your degree audit report
